Drop-optimized distribution/energy surcharge

Background and Purpose

What is the current situation? How does the project address it?

Currently, energy and distribution surcharges (E&D) are calculated per order. This creates challenges when fees or road tolls need to be adjusted per delivery (drop), for example, for customers with multiple orders to the same delivery address.

The purpose is to change the logic so that E&D and road tolls are calculated per delivery (drop) instead of per order. This will ensure:

• A fairer and more transparent pricing structure for customers

• Easier handling of future changes (e.g., road tolls, packaging fees)

• A technical solution that is flexible and scalable in SAP and the webshop

Main Deliverables

What will the project deliver?

Initial focus:

• Conduct an analysis of challenges and potential, then define the scope in detail

If the change is implemented, main deliverables will be:

• New calculation method for E&D surcharge based on deliveries (drop-based model)

• Update surcharge setup in SAP (pricing logic and conditions)

• Adjust webshop checkout so customers see correct calculation

• Communication package and training for the sales organization

Included:

• SAP: pricing logic (conditions) and E&D calculation

• Webshop: display of surcharge and checkout flow

• Only E&D and road toll initially

• Fee validation
