Ahlsell Scanning self check-out - Pilot

Definition of done:

When all involved parties - test stores, technical team, PO & stakeholders aggree that we have tested enough in the pilot.

Update 2025-08-29
The pilot is considered closed. The light towers remain in the five stores. Stakeholders - Johan Ivarsson & Bente Rystad - and PO Anna Caracolias are in agreement.

The next step to make a “product” out if this is under discussion by Lars Andersen, Rikard Eriksson & Anna Caracolias. A business case is underway. When completed, procurement will be contacted.

Update 2025-04-25
Light towers installed in Nyköping, Häggvik and Brobekk. We´re waiting for Generatorn and Hisingen. A first review is done by: Jonas W, Lovisa A, Johan D (Retail) and Anna C.
Full review will be done when the two additional stores are in place.

Update 2024-12-02
BLOCKER: New networks are deployed. Equipment to allow the light tower to connect to the network is not available. Infra holds the information about progress.

Update 2024-09-20

The pilot has been postponed due to problems with getting the lighttowers connected to the network. The decision is to wait with connecting lighttowers in 4 + 1 stores until the new Tele2 network is up and running.

Update 2024-05-23

An alternative approach to connecting to the network was identified for the pilot. We will hook up the tower to the guest network. Everything is ready to go besides that we need a bridge configured by Infra.

Next step: hook up 5 stores, then evaluation.

Dependency: Infra needs to perform work, configuration of equipment. No delivery time specified bya Infra.

Update 2024-03-11

We are not allowed to connect a light tower or anything to the Ahlsell network until we have a SD WAN solution implemented. The procurement is handled by Infra. So, the pilot will be put on hold.

Ahlsell scanning has been used since 2012 by means of using handscanners. In 2021 a mobile app was added for our customers to use.
