Project Sales Calculation and Quotation Tool (Broker)
Description
Background
In Rexel’s (lighting) project sales, the Broker quotation calculation software is used to streamline the creation and version control of project sales quotations.
The continuity of project sales must be ensured smoothly when transitioning to Ahlsell’s systems.
Ahlsell Group does not have a group-wide project sales calculation and quotation software.
Ahlsell Norway has its own local project sales calculation and quotation software called Cobrief.
It is not known whether Ahlsell Sweden has a separate project sales calculation and quotation software.
Rexel’s project sales has used Broker, which currently contains 57,000 quotations. About 600 new quotations are created each month.
Typically, (lighting) project sales quotations contain many lines (over 100).
Proposal
Ahlsell’s new project sales team in Finland will continue using Broker.
The need for additional Broker user licenses, beyond the project sales team, will be assessed case by case.
PHASE 1 – Stabilizing Daily Business Operations
Product, price, and customer data will be manually imported into Broker at least once a month.
Desired quotations are copied from Broker to the Vivaldi quotation routine, through which quotations can easily be converted into orders.
A resource from the Business Development organization will be assigned to both tasks.
PHASE 2 – Enhancing Support Functions
Investigate whether the necessary data for Broker can be found in the Datalake.
Implement data transfer from the Datalake to Broker once per day.
Desired quotations are copied from Broker to the Vivaldi quotation routine, making order creation easier.
PHASE 3 – Further Enhancing Support Functions
Build an integration for automatic generation of Vivaldi quotations from Broker.
PHASE 4 – Moving Away from Country-Specific Models
Implement a group-level quotation tool for Ahlsell Group.
