M&A Digital Integration assist of Rexel (FI)

This initiative will cover all digital touch points related to integration of Rexel Finland to Ahlsell.

Ahlsell has acquired Rexel Finland Oy in 2025. A lengthy due diligence process led to the closing of the deal in September 2025.

As part of the synergy effects, Rexel’s IT environment will be phased out in the coming months. A TSA (Transitional Service Agreement) governs which systems will be shut down from the Rexel Group; in addition, there are a large number of systems locally in Finland.

As a first step in the migration process, Rexel’s stores will move/merge into Ahlsell’s Store locations. A handful of Rexel stores will be rebranded with the Ahlsell identity. Initially, Rexel users will continue to use their current Rexel computers and connect via VPN to Rexel. In this setup, Rexel users will be connected to Ahlsell Guest Wifi and use AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) to access Ahlsell’s systems, primarily Vivaldi and A-connection, to reach House of Learning and other web applications. Rexel will temporarily have its own local printing solution, but the print workflow will change to warehouse-only printing. This means that store printouts from the Rexel ERP system will not be available.

In parallel with the Store merges, Rexel’s central warehouse will be moved to Ahlsell’s central warehouse in Hyvinkää.
During the autumn, there have been various GAP sessions, and the identified areas requiring attention and digital assistance are as follows:

• Migration of Rexel’s EDI traffic from Rexel’s EDI operator OWS to the in-house Ahlsell EDI team. The Marine industry and Meyer needs extra attention due to Sales (Ca 32M EUR). Order change process with Meyer needs further clarification due to complexities
• Expand stock number management in Vivaldi (STOCKNO), also need for other M&As.
• Adjust Ahlsell Storage to handle Rexel’s customers in the Ahlsell solution.
• Add Store-Check-out functionality in the Ahlsell APP. Rexel’s customers have been used to using only one APP (Store + Storage).
• Supplier Owned and Managed Inventory (DD-389).
• Project Sales Calculation and Quotation Tool (Broker) (DD-392).
• AVD performance and capacity Q3. Extended time-out issue changed to 60 min
• Reinstallation/new Ahlsell computers for Rexel users Q1-Q22:2026.
• Porting of mobile numbers to Telavox (after Ahlsell computers are in place). Targeting week 16.
• Extract data from Rexel systems to meet legal regulations (finance, HR, etc.). With target source to be Datalake
