24/7 Warehouse Operations

This initiative aims to enable 24/7 operations in our central warehouses across all countries using Vivaldi. Currently, operations are not possible between 02:00 – 05:00. The invoicing process running in the night batch is today limiting the Central Warehouses (logical warehouses running Astro WMS) to report back pick order results, because the orders are locked for back reporting if something goes wrong in the invoicing process. By implementing this change, we also aim to reduce or eliminate the risk of night operations disrupting activities in Vivaldi in the morning and forenoon when volumes increase, in line with our 2030 plan.

Describe the Change Initiative

The 24/7 Warehouse Operations initiative will allow our central warehouses to operate at any time of the day as needed. This change will improve our efficiency by ensuring continuous operations, streamline our processes by reducing downtime, and enhance our position towards customers by ensuring timely deliveries. It will also provide more flexible working hours and reducing operational bottlenecks.
