AhlsellGPT - Internal Language Model Chatbot. Safe for employees to use.

Status 2024-06-05

After Big Room planning we decided to rescope the initiative to only include development up to and including the connection to our intranet Aconnection. It also includes smaller fixes to make the user experience better for Ahlsell employees. The time line will be updated accordingly. A new initiative will be created that include the next steps, that is more data sources and other enhancements.

Status 2024-05-24

Development has been slower than expected. We are in the process of testing the connection of the first tool to AhslellGPT: Aconnection. This will allow a better experience for the users, they can for example ask about employees, recent articles or other information such as vacation rules that has been published on Aconnection. We hope to release this before the summer. We hope that once the first data source is connected we have the infrastructure to more eaily connect more data sources.

Next in line is to connect our product data, and then we thought about connecting a sharepoint area for some sepecific department (for example People and Culture). This is planned for Q3.

Background

AhlsellGPT is our own chatbot for use of our employees. It is based on the same models as ChatGPT but offers increased security to not let our internal data leak out.

AhlsellGPT was released 2024-12-04 to all Ahlsell employees. Over a thousand employees have already tried it and we are seeing a substantial daily use.

STEP 2: Stabilization and Enhancement

Although AhlsellGPT is working in production the user experience can still be improved, and there are many new functionalities that can be implemented for increased useability. For example we will connect our internal data sources, such as Aconnection and product data in order to answer more questions with higher reliability and verifyiability. During Q1 2024 we hope to see the usage and efficiency gains from AhlsellGPT increase as the employees become more used to the possibilities AI tools can leverage.

Why is it important:

AhlsellGPT brings the power of ChatGPT to the Ahlsell employees in a secure and easily used way. It will allow us to show and encourage how AI can be used to make the work day of many Ahlsell employees simpler and more productive.
