Gelia gap-analyse to avoid Synonym handling - short/long term
Description
Current state
When Gelia sends articles to FINFO and the price file that the customer takes from IB, the selection is on Class8. Today, Gelia can only send articles that fall under defined Class8.
FINFO also require item information in a way that Ahlsell normally do not support. The description of the item normally comes from the supplier and follow the industry database standard, which is not the same as the one used by FINFO. They also require more detailed logistic data (ie name of pack sizes and quantity within a pack). This today forces Gelia to use synonym items.
Wanted state
Gelia wants to be able to sell articles that fall outside the defineded CLASS8s and to avoid the current synonym handling.
In order for this to be possible, articles sold in Gelia's sales channel need to be marked at the local article level when the article is to be sent to Finfo, which means that the articles need to be enriched with more article information than articles that are only sold in Ahlsell's sales channel.
The marking on the local item does not need to be visible in Vivaldi and should come from STEP.
The Finfo file needs to be sent with the articles that are marked as Gelia articles at the local article level instead of the hardcoded CLASS8. The customer-specific price files also need to be sent out from Gelia-marked articles instead of the selected CLASS8 that are today.
Something like the setting on customer level (based on CUSTCLASS) should still be used to choose which information that should be used on documents (like invoices) and shown in web shop/app. A Ahlsell customer should set item description, long description images from the original setting, but a Gelia customer should see the Gelia content.
Replacing synonym handling
Gelia has a need for its own article names and packaging units and today, for example, the descriptions and packaging units of synonyms are used on invoices, delivery notes, and quotations.
We need to investigate how and for what the synonyms are used today so that we can, based on that information, investigate within Ahlsell what needs Gelia has today and that it does not end up in an almost identical solution but not just synonyms to get away from synonym handling.
