Description
Background
GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) is the a global standard identification for items where 13 digits represent the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) number, the fourteenth digit can indicate a package size, forming a separate GTIN for a case, pallet, etc of the same SKU.
STEP has support of setting up GTIN on packaging level and Vivaldi has support of setting up GTIN number on selling unit.
In the standard product AOM (Vivaldi) the selling unit and quantity that is setup for the GTIN Number in HA0103 are used to get the correct selling unit in order entry. This partially does not work for Ahlsell right now due to that customer unique handling of products affect this functionality. In this initiative we should look into using the standard functionality for GTIN in Vivaldi by bringing that functionality back without disturbing customer unique handling of products that still is needed.
The setup of GTIN specified on selling units in HA0103 seems not to be used right now. As in the example below the GTIN qualifiers in The Uniform Article Numbers both are setup on unit each (ST).
We also need to look into what is needed in the integration between STEP and Vivaldi.
Why is it important
Using GTIN and selling unit to get the correct quantity when selling different packages on the same SKU
Creates the opportunity to then investigate setting up sales price per packaging size using GTIN in initative
